CITATION CHECK
Title, journal, date and first author checked against the publisher’s Crossref record on 2026-10-05 by an automated check. Publication date confirmed to the month. The publisher reported no open licence for the work. SmellBook publishes only the citation and its own claim, never the work’s text.
Across the labelled ingredients of shampoos, hair conditioners, liquid soaps, wet tissues, washing-up liquids and multi-purpose cleaners, 88% of products contained fragrances; linalool, limonene, hexyl cinnamal, butylphenyl methylpropional and citronellol were the most frequent.
Based on ingredient labels and data sheets of products on sale, not on air or odour measurements; the most frequent fragrances are counted across all the product types together, not for each type.EXTERNAL RECORD
