Odorants in new car cabins ↗

Gas chromatography–olfactometry of the cabins of two new cars detected 41 potent odorants; the most dominant were esters, saturated and unsaturated aldehydes, unsaturated ketones, rose ketones, phenolic and benzene derivatives and pyrazines.

Two new cars with different seat upholstery in a controlled environment, as a proof of principle; other models and materials differ.
