Of 95 sunscreens commonly sold in New Zealand in 2019, 61% listed at least one fragrance ingredient, most often limonene (in 17% of them) and linalool (in 13%).
Ingredient lists collected from suppliers' websites and reviewed for allergens; it reports declared ingredients, not measured emissions or odour.
The statement the claim rests on was found word for word in the abstract fetched from the named service, and an editor read the full abstract against every part of the claim. Abstract from Europe PMC (ebi.ac.uk/europepmc).
