Volatiles emitted by Jasminum sambac flowers ↗

In volatiles emitted by living Jasminum sambac flowers, α-farnesene, linalool and benzyl acetate were the most abundant compounds, and blocking α-farnesene production also diminished the flowers' sweet scent.

One J. sambac cultivar across flowering stages; it reports abundance, not odour potency, and other jasmine species differ.
