Major component · the claim says “as their dominant volatile compounds”
Office printing and writing papers of several brands and countries emitted isopropyl dodecanoate and nonanal as their dominant volatile compounds in most samples, whatever pulpwood was used, and acetic acid content made it possible to identify recycled paper.
Scope: Volatiles measured from paper samples by GC-MS and an electronic nose; the study does not assess how the paper smells. CLM-OFFICEPAPER-001 ↗

WHAT THIS MEANS
SmellBook lists a molecule only where a VERIFIED claim names it, in the role and scope that claim states. A molecule reported in a smell's evidence is not the whole smell: most smells come from many compounds together, and the studies measured particular samples, such as one cultivar, an essential oil or a cooked product.
